Jamaica is a wonderful nature and tropical climate. We will see here beautiful white coral beaches, tropical forests, mountains and limestone plateaus. Tropical forests are full of rare woody plants, magnificent flowering plants and cacti. There are a lot of endemic species of plants and animals on the island, that is, organisms unique to a given place or region, nowhere else.
It is therefore hardly surprising that the Jamaicans have joined the World Conservative Union, which aims to protect the integrity and diversity of nature around the world. In conclusion, we would like to remind you that it is forbidden to transport plants or animals across the state border.
There are many rare and one-of-a-kind species of animals in Jamaica. We will meet several endangered species here, for example: crocodiles or various species of bats. There is a rodent species in Jamaica that is similar to a guinea pig called "hutia". The most common mammals are goats, bred literally everywhere. The island is inhabited by about 250 species of birds, and some of them will definitely be seen while on the island. Sharks, lizards and many other tropical animals hide under the bushes.
The insects with beautiful appearance appearing here are extremely interesting (eg multicolored butterflies). At night you can find glowing fireflies that create a unique atmosphere - about 50 species live on the island.
The least popular representatives of the animal world are cockroaches. There are a lot of them here, but they do not pose a greater health risk. All you have to do is hide food.
The underwater world is extremely rich. In the coral reefs near the coast, there are various animals that can be observed up close during the dive. We will also meet here a lot of colorful fish, jellyfish, sea turtles, seals and dolphins.
The marine fauna of Jamaica
In the coastal waters of Jamaica live various species of fish, turtles (including tortoiseshell tortoise, green turtle), sea snakes, manatees (herbivorous marine mammals), dolphins, and, moreover, crabs, lobsters and other invertebrates.
Among the numerous fish, you can distinguish guppies, gladioli, flies, limes, plantain, rays, horses, seahorses, butterflies, moray eels and pufferfish fish (note, their body contains a highly poisonous toxin).
Sailfish, tuna and sharks occur at greater depths.
